RNLI Portraits
This project started when I regularlary walked past the RNLI Lifeboat Station in Aldeburgh, Suffolk.
I found myself asking "who are the people who man the station and the lifeboat? Where do they come from? Why do they volunteer? What else do they do?".
After inquiring around Aldeburgh I found that most of people were local volunteers, but it was not enough information. For me I felt that the volunteers were invisible in the public eye.
The title of the work presented was "You never know who you are speaking too". The project will be expanded in due course and I will be holding a fund raising event for the RNLI sometime in June/July 2014 at Seizmond Gallery, Saxmundham.
I wish to thank the RNLI for thier full support and kind permission to allow me full access to their crew and station for this project.
